Baby #2

We found out just after Christmas that we are expecting Baby #2 on August 30th! Tom is very excited and loved to see the ultrasound and hear the heartbeat. He wants to name the baby Blake, after his friend, but when asked what we should name it if it's a girl, he looked at us like we're crazy and said, "It's a boy one." He loves telling people about the baby in Mommy's belly.

Bass Pro Shops

 Jake and Tom drove down to Bass Pro Shops and met up with Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Steve and Great-Grandad for shopping and lunch. 

Christmas in Montrose

We went down to Montrose to see Santa and go for a horse ride down Honolulu Ave. Tom had lots of fun with his Aunties, uncle and cousins. 

Community Group Christmas Party

Our community group had our annual Christmas party. This year it was Come Dressed as Your Favorite Christmas Character. Tom went as Clark W. Griswold, Jake went as Max, the Grinch's dog and I went as the leg lamp from A Christmas Story. We also had our annual Men vs. Women Gingerbread House contest. The ladies finally won with our "Christmas in the Shire" creation. The men were a close-ish second with their ski lift. Good effort, boys!

Wakefield Christmas Lights '12

We had family over for dinner and to go walk through the Wakefield Community Christmas lights. Every year this double cul-de-sac puts up crazy amounts of lights and it's a bit attraction for Santa Clarita Valley. On the walk there we saw a line of jeeps, all covered with Christmas lights as well.

L.A. Zoo

We took Tom to the Los Angeles Zoo for the first time! Blake came along too since I was technically working. =) The boys had a great time. Tom loved seeing all the animals, he especially loved the reptile house. One gorilla had his chin in his hand and Tom said it was thinking about Tom, and he liked seeing the Mama orangutan holding and protecting her baby. We made it about halfway through the zoo before it was clear that it was time for a nap or a breakdown, guess which one we picked.
