Balch Park-September 2012

For Jake's 30th birthday, we went camping in Balch Park in the Sequoia National Forest. We had beautiful weather while everyone back home was roasting in 108 degree heat. We went for hikes, fed the ducks and just enjoyed the beautiful scenery. The giant trees were very impressive, they were big enough to walk around in. The campground had a number of man-made lakes for fishing. Tom wanted to put his feet in but got bogged down in the mud on the shore and fell on his tush. He was not amused. But he did enjoy feeding the ducks and helping Daddy gather wood for our fire. Unlike other campgrounds, at Balch Park, you are encouraged to pick up downed limbs to use for your fire. It was a fun weekend!
