Tom's newest words
Tom has been talking non-stop! He learns new words every day. We are amazed with the things he says. "Excuse me", "Come on", "Where's Daddy go?" and "Bless you" when someone sneezes. My favorite is "I love you" which he alternates whispering and shouting! He can spell his name and recognizes the letters in his name, as well as a few others. He can even count to ten all by himself. Out of curiosity, Jake counted up about how many words Tom knows, the count was over 230, but he learns more each day. He's a smart little cookie!

Christmas 2011
We had a wonderful Christmas this year!! Tom loves his strider bike!! We got to spend Christmas morning with both sides of the family. We had early morning here with the Chase side, then we all went down to Gram's to open more presents, then we had dinner here at our house, followed by
a super fun game of Pit!

Christmas Eve
We went to Gram's annual Christmas Eve party and got to see so many people we love! Tom had fun following around his cousins and second-cousins around the house to see the silly things they were doing. Jean, Sean, and Brian sang and danced "Sleigh Ride", then Vicki added the much needed back-up instrument, the SPOONS. Awesome! The Turner and Jensen boys were having fun with their mustache tattoos from Crazy Uncle Vicki. No one was safe!! Merry Christ-mustache!!

Candy Cane Lane
We went to see the Santa Clarita Candy Cane Lane with the Jen and the twinsies. Tom loves to see Christmas lights, and he loves to see Charlie and Natalie so this was an especially fun night for him. The Wakefield community in Santa Clarita sets up their cul-de-sac with a crazy amount of lights and everyone in town goes to see them. Every night they are super crowded with cars driving and people walking through. They started doing Christmas lights after the Northridge earthquake in 1994 when all the neighbors started getting to know each other better and forming more of a community in their neighborhood. Many of the houses have live music, bonfires, and collections for charity to celebrate the season. We love seeing the lights every year.
